1st Choice Stairlifts have exceeded expectations
Calne based firm 1st Choice Stairlifts have celebrated their recent expansion with the opening of their new premises in Harris Road on Porte Marsh Industrial Estate, officially opened by North Wiltshire MP, James Gray.
The company have been trading for almost 8 years and won the “New Business Award” for Calne and North Wiltshire which was presented by James to directors Coral Affleck and Colin Major back in 2004. In his speech at the opening, James said that he was delighted with the progress the company had made. He said that he looked forward to seeing the company continue to grow in the future, safe in the knowledge that if he ever needed a stairlift he knew where to come.
Calne Town Mayor, Glenis Ansell also made an appearance, commenting on how great it was to see a business success story in the current doom and gloom of the economic recession, particularly one that helped to provide a great service to the community.
Director Coral Affleck said, “Between myself and fellow director Colin Major we have 40 years of stairlift expertise. We took a giant leap of faith in setting up our business, providing a local stairlift service and through hard work and determination we have exceeded our expectations. We have further plans for the near future, to help build on the success of the past 8 years – who knows, we could be a national phenomenon by 2020!”
The company now employs 12 staff and they supply, install and maintain a wide range of stairlifts and wheelchair lifts across Wiltshire and the surrounding counties.
They also sponsor the local Calne under-10’s football team coached by one of their engineers and donate to charitable events. As part of the opening day celebrations, the company donated £100 to winning customer Vicky Sullivan’s nominated charity, the Samantha Dickson Brain Tumour Trust.
