Stairlift rental involves an upfront installation fee and then a fixed monthly payment. Straight stairlift rental starts from around £450 for the installation, plus a monthly fee from around £50 per month. Curved stairlift rental costs more because of the made-to-measure rail and can start from £2,000 + £100 per month. We will give you an exact written quote after a free home survey -- there are no hidden costs.
No. There is no minimum term on our rental agreement. You rent for as long as you need, whether that is a few months or several years, and when you are ready to stop, we come and remove the stairlift. The rolling monthly payment simply stops on removal when you cancel your standing order.
Just call us. We will arrange a convenient time to come and remove the stairlift. Removal is already included in your original installation fee, so there is nothing extra to pay. Once it is removed, the monthly payments stop.
Yes. All maintenance, callouts, repairs, and parts are included in your monthly rental fee (subject to standard warranty conditions which covers manufacturing defects). Our engineers are on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for emergencies. An annual service is also included every year too.
Yes. We offer curved stairlift rental, which is not something all companies can provide. A new made-to-measure rail is configured to your exact staircase. Lead times are a few weeks from survey to installation. Call us to find out more.
It depends on how long you need the stairlift. For shorter periods, a few months to a couple of years, rental usually works out more cost-effective than buying. For longer-term needs, buying (new or reconditioned) could make more financial sense over time. We will give you an honest comparison when you call, without steering you towards the more expensive option. Bear in mind also that you should have an annual service every year to make sure your stairlift is checked over and safe to use, as recommended by British Safety Standards. Often people continue to rent for years as the maintenance is already included in the price rather than paying separately.

What the numbers do not show
The figures above use the minimum service cost and assume no callouts are needed after the warranty period. In practice, any stairlift can occasionally need an engineer visit, and callouts start from £145 during office hours. Every unplanned callout shifts the comparison further in favour of rental.
Rental removes that uncertainty entirely. Your monthly fee is fixed and covers everything including maintenance, callouts, parts and annual servicing, so there are never any surprise bills.
Servicing is recommended annually which is at a cost of £145 per service, which you should factor into your running costs too.
Removal is also included in your original rental installation fee. If you buy a stairlift and no longer need it, removal is charged separately, from £150 plus VAT for a straight stairlift and from £250 plus VAT for a curved one.

If you have a long-term or permanent health condition affecting your mobility, you will normally qualify for VAT exemption on stairlift rental, just as you would on a purchase. We will confirm your eligibility and handle the declaration as part of your rental agreement. Prices here do not include any VAT and should you not qualify, VAT will be added at the correct rate.
