Reconditioned Curved Stairlift Stairlift Key Features

Curved stairlifts can be quite expensive, so if you’d prefer to save several hundred pounds on buying one, and would like to help the environment by buying a recycled model, our range of reconditioned/ second-hand models are a great idea.

Our range of quality reconditioned models are stringently checked and reconditioned to the highest of standards – so good in fact that customers always tell us “It looks like a new lift” when they have one installed.

So why buy a second-hand curved stairlift model from 1st Choice Stairlifts?

  1. It will save you money, often several hundred pounds cheaper by buying a reconditioned model rather than a new one.
  2. It will look as good as new when it is installed in your home.
  3. Every model has gone through our stringent safety and reconditioning process in our workshop. Any visually worn parts will be replaced.
  4. It’s covered with a 12-month warranty that can be extended further if you wish.
  5. All warranties are backed up with 24/7, 365 days a year engineering support and callout facility if you need a repair.
  6. All used models will have naturally done a little mileage but we only choose models to recondition which are a few years old and in excellent condition, to be resold.

So how do you buy a second-hand stairlift?

When models are no longer needed we remove these lifts from customer’s homes and bring them back to our workshop.  We will only reuse models that are a few years old and in excellent condition.  Our reconditioned curve models include a reconditioned chair and carriage, but due to the bespoke nature of people’s stairs, a made-to-measure rail will have to be made to your stair dimensions.  Curved stairs can be tricky with bends and different rail configurations, but we can tailor-make a solution for any curved stairs, even narrow, multi-flight, and spiral ones!

Our dedicated workshop engineer will check and recondition each model thoroughly, replacing any worn parts we have identified.  This process takes several hours and all models have a final run on our test rails before they are given our high-quality seal of approval for resale.  The product is thoroughly cleaned and sanitised and is wrapped, boxed, and stored ready to be resold and installed.

We have various models in stock (mostly from the range shown on our website), ready to be installed in your home.

Our Surveyor will visit your home and do an assessment, measuring your stairs and you, to assess which model would best suit your needs and fit your stairs.  We will then check our live stock system on our Surveyor’s iPad where we can show you the exact model we’ll be installing on your stairs, so you can see it for yourself before you commit, then we’ll reserve it on order.  You are also welcome to visit our Head Office in Calne to see the exact model “in the flesh” for yourself to see just what great quality it is.  We always have customers tell us they look just like new, so we are confident you will be pleased with your purchase.

How much is a Second-Hand model?

Our quality second-hand curve stairlifts start from around £2,800 (but can vary considerably depending on the model, number of bends you need and meters of rail) inclusive of fitting and a 12-month warranty, which can be extended if you wish at an additional cost.  Our aftercare service operates 24-7, 365 days a year so if you ever need us all you have to do is call.

Who buys unwanted stairlifts?

To be able to sell reconditioned models, we buy unwanted stairlifts that are no longer needed.  If you have a model you want rid of then give us a call so we can appraise your model and see if we can buy it back for resale.  If it is unable to be reused, we offer a removal service and will environmentally dispose of it as registered waste carriers.  Please call our Aftercare Department on 01249 814528
