If you’re based in Dorset and searching for a reliable home lift company, then look no further. At 1st Choice Homelifts, we’ve been helping people across the South of England for more than 20 years, making homes more accessible, safer, and comfortable with our high-quality domestic lifts.
A home lift (also known as a domestic lift, through-floor lift, or residential lift) is one of the most practical ways to make your property future-ready.
Many Dorset homeowners choose a lift not just for mobility needs but also as a modern, stylish alternative to a stairlift. A lift is also ideal when two people — for example, a carer and their client — need to travel together.
From our head office and showroom in Ferndown, Dorset, we regularly work with customers across the county of Dorset, including:
Wherever you are in Dorset, we can help with installation, servicing, repairs, and removals of your home lift.

We’re committed to making homes across Dorset safer, more accessible, and ready for the future.
Our Ferndown showroom is open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday 8.30am–3.30pm and Friday 8.30am – 1pm (excluding bank holidays). Visits are by appointment to ensure we give you our full attention.
With step-free access, customer parking right outside the front door, and accessible facilities, our showroom is easy for everyone to visit.
Prices vary depending on the lift model, size, features, and required building works. As a guide, domestic lifts start from around £12,500 plus building works. We provide free home assessment surveys for a tailored no-obligation quotation.
In most cases, planning permission isn’t required if the lift is installed inside your property. For listed buildings or major external works, approval may be needed. You will also need to notify building control, which we can handle for you.
Most installations are completed in around three days, including building works. We’ll confirm exact timescales during your free survey.
We supply domestic lifts from leading names such as Stiltz and Wessex, ranging from compact through-floor models to larger wheelchair-accessible lifts.
