When you reach our age, getting around the house isn’t as easy as it used to be. We’re still very active, and have all our faculties in check!, but one or two things, like climbing the stairs, take that bit of extra effort.

Some of our friends had stairlifts and when we visited them, they would always comment on how convenient they were and how we should really get one ourselves. It wasn’t about admitting invalidity – we’re certainly not! – it was about continuing to make our home comfortable and workable for us.

We contacted 1st Choice Stairlifts because our friends had used them and found them very helpful. They were also close to us, so we could visit the showroom and see the different stairlifts in action before deciding which suited us best.

All the staff were very friendly in the showroom, and when they visited our house to measure-up and confirm our requirements. Soon after, we were having the stairlift fitted and being shown how to use it.

We’ve had the stairlift for three months now and it really has been a godsend. We’re in our own home, able to make full use of the rooms upstairs as well as down, and can carry on living our lives as normal.
