When I was born there was something funny with my legs that meant I couldn’t walk properly. My mummy and daddy had to carry me up the stairs, but now that I am a big boy they can’t do that anymore. Daddy brought my bed downstairs and I had to sleep in the sitting room for a while, which made me sad because I couldn’t go into my bedroom and play with my racing cars.
Daddy said that there was a nice man coming to see me to show me some pictures of a stairlift so I can go and play in my bedroom again. I even helped the man measure up with his tape measure.
Another man came to see us and put my stairlift on the stairs for me. Now I can’t wait to drive my stairlift! Mummy straps me into the chair in my harness and we pretend that I am Michael Schumacher driving my Ferrari formula 1 car, because it’s got a red seat you know. We even make the brum noises when we go up and down – it’s so much fun!
