SURVEYS AT THE CLICK OF A BUTTON
With the launch of the new E-Survey kit, surveying curved stairs has become easier with the click of a button.
The E-Survey is a photogrametic system which utilises photography in conjunction with computer software to create a virtual re-creation of the staircase, in order to have the 2000 stairlifts to be manufactured quicker and within millimetre precision.
A series of targets, each displaying a unique design, are placed on the staircase, in the hallway and on the landings. Photographs are taken of the targets at the same distance as the focal length of the camera as it is pre-set. The photographs are then downloaded onto our computer.
When a stairlift order is placed, we uploaded the photographs to Minivator’s server and the computer software will overlay the photographs, automatically drawing the staircase using the targets as pin-points to draw the stairs.
It only takes 10 minutes on average to survey a staircase and can be done at time of quotation so we can process the order quicker reducing delivery and installation waiting times for your clients.
