LOCAL FIRM GIVES WILTSHIRE A LIFT
The thousands of elderly and disabled people across the county who have trouble climbing stairs now have a unique opportunity to try a selection of stairlifts at a newly created showroom in Calne.
1st Choice Stairlifts, which was established in 2004 and won the North Wiltshire New Business Award, has expanded its premises on the Porte Marsh Industrial Estate from 80m² to 136m², creating a showroom in an adjacent industrial unit that will display five different working stairlifts.
The brand new showroom was unveiled at an official opening last week when Councillor Maureen Lloyd of Age Concern Chippenham cut the all-important ribbon. Councillor Lloyd says, “This showroom is the only one of its kind in the Wiltshire area and offers a valuable resource to show their extensive range of stairlifts. The friendly advisers have a great deal of experience and are keen to discuss the best options for each individual customer, offering a unique, personal service.” The new showroom allows the company to demonstrate working stairlifts that will help customers visualise what equipment is available and how it can make a difference.
Coral Affleck, company director at 1st Choice Stairlifts says, “In our experience, many people struggle with stairs for years because they don’t think a stairlift will fit their stairs. “These days, stairlifts can fit almost any stairs - straight or curved - enabling people to use their entire home rather than being confined downstairs. A stairlift can be a simple solution that boosts independence and allows people to remain in their home, and they’re very easy to use - something we look forward to demonstrating to visitors when they come to our showroom.”
The new showroom will be open five days a week, and by appointment outside standard opening hours, so customers have a range of opportunities to visit. As well as a complete installation and aftercare service, 1st Choice Stairlifts offers stairlift rental and a removal and reinstallation service across the county.
