1st Choice Stairlifts was established in 2004 and in its very first year of trading won the Calne new business award and its £2,000 prize. The company then went on to win first place in the overall North Wiltshire New Business Awards, collecting a further £2,000 in prize money which helped with business expansion.Now after almost four years of successful trading, which has seen the company move from its start-up premises, a garage, to a purpose-built showroom and warehouse facility on Porte Marsh Industrial Estate, 1st Choice Stairlifts has launched a new website to meet customer demand and focus on their specific needs for accessible information.
Coral Affleck, director of 1st Choice Stairlifts, praised the new business awards for the welcome boost it gave to their start-up costs, saying:“The North Wiltshire New Business Competition is a fantastic idea and one that not only provided us with much-needed capital, but more importantly gave us lots of reassurance that we were doing the right thing in starting the business, and the confidence to pursue our ambitions.
Since winning, we quickly moved out of our garage to a purpose-built showroom, become a member of the British Healthcare Trades Association, and being added to the Local Authority Approved List of Contractors. Now the website gives us something else to be proud of, and marks our continued success in growing the business from strength to strength.”
